Explore the pyramids of Giza, the Sphinx, Saqqara and Memphis before heading to Aswan to spend several days in a Nile Cruise exploring ancient ruins and temples in Luxor and Aswan before return to Cairo to visit Egyptian Museum, important Islamic, Christian historical sites and Khan El Khalili bazaar. At the end you will be escorted to the airport where you’ll head back home with stories and memories of all the unforgettable moments you spent in Egypt.

ITINERARY

Day 1 - Arrival to Cairo.

Upon your arrival to Cairo international Airport, one of our Representatives will be there waiting for you, holding assign with your name, welcoming you and helping to collect your luggage. Then, you will be transferred to your hotel, overnight at hotel in Cairo.

Day 2 - Giza pyramids- Sakkara- Memphis – Sleeper train to Aswan.

At 8:00 am, pickup by Nile voyage Expert Tour Guide to start your full day tour by visiting The Great Pyramids of Giza- Cheops, Chephren & Mykerions. The largest of the three pyramids at Giza, known as the Great Pyramid or Pyramid of Cheops. After its construction, it became the tallest building on earth, until the French built the Eiffel Tower in 1889, today it is only 137m high. The 2nd Pyramid, is easily recognizable by the layers of its original casing stones that still remain near its summit, known as Pyramid of Khafre or Chephren, which 136m high. The 3rd known as Pyramid of Menkaure or Mykerinos, which nowadays 62m high. After visiting tree pyramids you will head to see The Great Sphinx of Giza – Legendary lion body with the face of king Chephren standing beyond a huge funeral Temple named as king’s Chephren Valley Temple. This Temple is the same place where the dead Body of King Chepren was Mummified in.

You’ll then be driven to the necropolis of Sakkara and see the Step Pyramids of King Zoser and the tomb of Queen Tee, followed by a lovely lunch of oriental food in a local restaurant.

After lunch, you’ll be taken to visit the old capital of Egypt, Memphis, and the alabaster statue of King Ramses the Second.

After concluding your visit to all the major sites in Cairo, you’ll be transferred to the railway station where you’ll take the 8:00 pm overnight, sleeper train on half board accommodation to Aswan.

Day 3 - Check in Aswan Nile Cruise – Aswan full day trip.

After breakfast which will be served on the train, you will be met at Aswan Railway Station by our Guide to start your Aswan day tour.
Your tour will start at 10:00 am with a visit to the High Dam, an engineering miracle built in 1960 protecting Egypt from annual floods of the Nile and considered to be one the biggest dams in the world.

Then, visit the majestic Philae Temple, which was the ancient pilgrimage center and was built in the honor of Goddess Isis the chief deity of the island.

After that, visit the Unfinished Obelisk which shows the techniques used by the ancient Egyptians to cut obelisks. Most probably this obelisk belongs to Queen Hatshepsut, one of the rulers of the 18th Dynasty and the royal wife of king Tuthmosis II. This queen was the owner of her Temple in the eastern bank of Luxor.

After concluding your sightseeing for the day, you’ll check in to your Nile Cruise, have lunch on board where you’ll spend the night.

Day 4 - Kom Ombo temple - Temple of Abu Simbel (optional).

Breakfast will be served on board as we set sail to Kom Ombo. On arrival, you will visit the unique double Temple of Kom Ombo, which was built for two deities, the crocodile-headed Sobek, god of fertility and creator of the world, and Haroeris or the ancient falcon-headed Horus.

After that, return to the Cruise and continue your journey to Edfu, where we dock and you have a good night’s rest.

Day 5 - Edfu temple - Esna Lock to Luxor.

After enjoying an amazing breakfast aboard ship, you will be heading out to explore the Temple of Horus at Edfu. Edfu Temple was constructed between 237 and 57 BC during the Ptolemaic era, extended between 332 – 30 BC, and considered to be the best preserved temple in Egypt.

After concluding your visit to Edfu, we sail via Esna Lock to Luxor, where we dock for the night and you sleep aboard the ship.

Day 6 - Luxor day trip - Sleeper train to Cairo.

Breakfast will be served on board before checking out of the Nile Cruise, then, start your Luxor day tour by visiting Karnak Temple (on the East Bank of the Nile).

Karnak Temple is the greatest example of worship in the history, dedicated to the God Amon, his wife Mut and their son Khonsu. The construction of the Karanak Temple lasted about 2000 years to be built from the old kingdom till the Roman occupied Egypt. Then, you will have a lunch at nice restaurant.

After lunch, you will visit the Valley of the Kings (on the West Bank), the magnificence of the grandeur of architecture, which was used for burial. There are many kings buried in this valley. The most known tombs are King Tutmosis I, Tutmosis III, Tut-Ankh-Amon, King Ramssess VI, King Mrenptah and AmonhotepII.

Followed by a visit to the Temple of Queen Hatshepsut, which was built by Queen Hatshepsut, the daughter of Thutmosis I, who ruled Egypt about 20 years during the 18th Dynasty (approximately 1490-1469 B.C).
Then, continue your day Tour to The Colossi of Memnon, which are remains of the mortuary temple of Amenhotep III.

After concluding your visit to all the major sites in Luxor, you’ll be transferred to the railway station where you’ll take the 8:00 pm overnight sleeper train on half board accommodation to Cairo.

Day 7 - Egyptian Museum - Saladin Citadel - Khan El Khalili.

Breakfast will be served on the train. Then, upon your arrival to Cairo, you’ll be met by one of our representatives at Giza Railway Station and taken to visit the magnificent Egyptian Museum, the house of antiquities in Egypt, which holds over 25,000 monuments from ancient Egyptian times, such as the unique treasures of King Tutankhamun including the golden mask, coffins and many other objects of fine art.

After that, you’ll be taken to visit the Saladin Citadel and Mohamed Ali Mosque (which is similar to the Blue Mosque in Turkey).

Then, you’ll be taken to Khan El Khalili bazaar, after which you’ll be having lunch at a 5 star local restaurant with open buffet oriental food. After your fantastic meal, you’ll be transferred to the hotel for a nice, long sleep!

Day 8 - Departure to Cairo Airport.

Wake up and have your breakfast at the hotel before checking out, and then, be escorted to the airport, where you’ll catch your international flight home with stories and memories of all the unforgettable moments you spent in Egypt.
